How to prepare – Couscous

A quick way to prepare Couscous… whether it be to serve as a side dish with a Middle-Eastern inspired Casserole or to add into a beautiful salad.

Important just to remember that you need 1 part couscous to 1½ parts water (or stock, if you prefer… though perhaps no need for the extra salt if using).

  • 180g (1 Cup) Couscous
  • ½ tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 375mls (1½ Cups) Boiling Water

Place the couscous and salt into a small saucepan. Add the olive oil and using your fingers, rub the oil into the couscous until evenly coated. Be sure that the saucepan is sitting on a board or surface that doesn’t lose heat too quickly.

Add the boiling water and stir quickly with a fork to mix. Cover the saucepan with a lid and allow to sit for about 5-7 minutes. Fluff with a fork, to separate the grains a little, before serving.
